anima noun

/ˈanÉ™mÉ™/an·â€‹i·â€‹ma

1. The word anima primarily refers to the soul, life, or vital breath, originating from Latin. Depending on the context, it takes on distinct meanings across philosophy and psychology.

2. In broader classical and theological contexts, anima signifies the inner self, the vital principle that gives living things their spirit, or the "soul".

Anima Productions began creating music videos and fast-paced cycling films, learning how to tell stories through movement, rhythm, and emotion. As our work evolved, so did our vision. We expanded into short films, branded content, and story-driven projects that put people at the center of every frame.

The name Anima comes from the Latin word for soul, life, and vital breath. We chose it because the stories that stay with us are the ones that make us feel something. It was also the title of our most recent short film, Anima, which premiered at a Firehouse Film Collective screening. The name stuck with us because it reflects the kind of work we're drawn to creating: stories with heart, purpose, and a human connection at their core.

From following CEOs, Entrepreneurs, brands, musicians, and teams to screening our work in Chicago theaters, we've grown into a team of directors, producers, writers, cinematographers, and creatives who care deeply about the craft.

We believe cinema has the power to stop the world, even if only for a moment. That's why we approach every project with intention, honesty, and a passion for storytelling.

Less Content. More Cinema.
